And The Answer Is: Affiliate Marketing

Today I had a blowout, 200 yards from my apartment complex. It happened because I swerved to avoid a piece of wood in the road, and hit the curb instead. When I came to a stop, I was shook up, then I was frustrated. Fortunately, a really nice guy pulled up as I was getting out the jack and spare (which was flat) and helped me pump up the spare and put it on in place of the blow out. I was on my way in under twenty-five minutes.

Then I got to thinking about how I was going to pay for the new tire.
And my answer was: affiliate marketing. Pay attention; here is my plan to pay for my blow out.

I will start at that king of all affiliate sites, Clickbank. I will spend some quality time looking for products that are of interest to me, and relate to the other sites I have constructed. I will look for a product with a good sales page, a decent commission, and enough information to do a good review. I will probably research the product away from the Clickbank site to see if it has been reviewed by others, and what they have said. I may contact the developer to see if he would let me test drive the product before I review it. I would share with him the urls of my other sites so he could check me out too.

Then, I’ll write that review. In it, I will outline what the product is, how it will perform, what the benefits are, and I’ll even mention any drawbacks I found, just because I do want to be honest and fair. My online affiliate marketing friends appreciate that in me.

Next, I’ll head over to Squiddo and build a lens. I’ll set up my review there with some fun additions; maybe I’ll have a video downloaded from YouTube if I can find something to relate even humorously to the product. I’ll put in a big arrow link, and a guestbook and because it makes people feel more confident to see who is reviewing, I’ll include a picture of me. That might get some ladies to linger.

Once that’s done, I’ll write up a few articles and submit them, make another lens another day with more or different information about my affiliate product, and start blogging about what I’ve learned. The money for my new tire won’t come in before I need to buy it, but odds are, it will come in before I have to pay for it. Try it for yourself and see if affiliate marketing won’t work to help you pay for the unexpected.
